The
Integumentary system consists of your body's largest organ, the skin, which includes hair, nails and sweat glands. The skin
and nails cover and protect the body and the sweat glands help maintain your body
temperature. This system's main function is that it acts as a barrier to protect
the body. It also retains body fluids, disposes of
waste, protects you from viruses and controls body temperature. To do these
functions the Integumentary system works with the other systems in the body and the other organs that are part of this system (skin, sweat glands and etc.).
Overall, this system protects your body from damage and consists of the largest
organ in your body (Skin), without it you wouldn’t be able to survive.
